Carbon Forest Services
Established in 2013, the experience and expertise behind Carbon Forest Services dates back to 2004 with principal Ollie Belton involved right from the start of the New Zealand carbon industry. Today Carbon Forest Services provides the whole spectrum of services to forest participants within the Emissions Trading Scheme.
About OllieMy interest in climate change, carbon markets and forestry started while still at University where I carried out research for an Australian coal company on emissions trading and the use of forests as a low cost option to offset coal emissions. After graduating in Law and Political Science from Canterbury University, I joined my father Mark's forestry company Permanent Forests. Mark has been a forester for over 30 years and his company was a pioneer in NZ carbon forestry providing services to international and domestic clients. While at Permanent Forests I gained experience in a wide range of fields and tasks which took me from the desk to deep into the forest. From carrying out forest measurements in Northland, to working in Papua New Guinea, and negotiating and drafting carbon sale contracts with European Governments. It is this breadth and depth of knowledge that I bring to Carbon Forest Services Limited.
